Parents play an important role in the Pre-School and we actively encourage them to become involved in their children’s learning.
Which Parents Are Involved
Before your child begins attending the Pre-School parents and children are invited to an open morning to meet their child’s key worker and other staff, look around the setting and order uniform if wanted.
Parents are asked to complete an “ALL about Me” form before the child begins attending.
Induction / Settling In Process
Parents and key-workers will negotiate the settling in process; children’s starting dates are staggered at the beginning of the year to give parents and staff to complete all paperwork and discuss individual children needs.
Parents are able to speak to staff at the beginning or end of each session or make an appointment at mutually convenient times.
Parents have the opportunity to contribute to their children’s records through their child individual online Learning Journal (Tapestry) at any time. An appointment will be made with your child’s keyperson to discuss their Next Steps three times a year.
Parents are informed of what is happening in the Pre-School through regular newsletters and offered opportunities to contribute to planning and sharing child’s interests with key workers and staff.
Parents are invited to help in the Pre-School with a specific activity of play alongside their child.
A dedicated committee of parents who help manage the Pre-School meet monthly to manage developments.
All parents are invited to join the committee. Please ask the Pre-School leader for the date of the next AGM meeting where we are always encouraging parents to become active members, as we welcome all the help, support and fresh ideas that this brings.
